The new year is ahead of us – Let’s make something of it!
The night from New Year’s Eve to New Year’s Day – the threshold between old and new – is an arbitrarily drawn boundary. It means that we have orbited a ridiculously large fireball once on our beloved, wet rock called Earth and are now roughly where we were a year ago – just one tax year later. This makes this day possibly as good as any other for a fresh start.
We look back and settle accounts with the old year. We place all our hope in the New Year. And we hope that everything will be alright, that we are healthy, that we have less stress, that we experience more beautiful moments…
And if every today has the qualification for the beginning of something great, then every day has it.
We can decide – every day! – when we lose weight, get fit, finally slow down, stop smoking, getting high, drinking, and so on and so forth.
My resolution for the New Year: To remember that every day is a new day. To remember that every day is a chance (not a guarantee!) for happiness, peace, contentment.
Have a good start and be good to yourselves!
