Others can do it too—just not.

A few thoughts on failure.

Failing. Falling short. Not being enough.
But measured against what?
All too often: against what we believe others expect of us, and against what we believe others achieve.

But if you talk to others, you may find that they fail just as much as you do.

Is that still failure, then?

Or can we be kind to ourselves and admit: “I wanted more—but this will probably be enough, too…”

I think: Yes! Absolutely!
I think that if we sincerely do our best, then in the end we’ve done our best. Who could ask for more?

As long as we don’t stop trying and doing, don’t let ourselves be beaten down, and want to do it well, there’s no talk of “not being enough.”

And in the end, we’re allowed to look back at what we’ve accomplished and tell ourselves, “Yes! I did that well!”.
We’re allowed to love ourselves for what we achieve. We’re allowed to forgive ourselves for what we don’t manage to do.
